Guinness World Records list the Mona Lisa as having the highest insurance  value for a painting in history.

It was assessed at $100 million  [US currency]  on December 14,1962, before the painting toured the United States for several months.

However, the Louve chose to spend the money they would have spent on the insurance premium on security instead. Taking inflation into account, the 1962 value of the Mona Lisa would be around $780 Million US Dollars today.
